This company keep calling me and leaving messages, despite the fact that I'm in France working away. The trouble is it costs me money to receive these stupid sales calls that I don't want (I'm already insured with someone else). I have called them twice and told them to remove my number from their database, but the calls continue, to the extent that they are becoming an abuse. This is inexcusable after I have specifically told them to STOP. Next thing is to put them under NOTICE that they will be charged £10 per nuisance call unless they desist.

According to another site - this May be anything to do with NHS Wirral Exchanges? However, BT have told others it may also be scam? In my case it rang my landline, which we don't give out (Our 4th number, when others got swamped with scam sales calls). Only our parents still ring it. It rang a full 4 minutes- so I near broke my neck to answer (figuring it MUST be Urgent). As soon as I picked up, it 'beeped' off!!! 1471 give info warning there may be extra charges for returning??? (VoIP call). Fuming!!!

Orange? I doubt it.....
They called a few days ago, saying they were Orange and telling me I could get unlimited texts etc for only £1 more than I was paying now on PAYG. Thing is, they didn't know how much I spent per month or whether I was on a particular tariff. You'd think Orange would know! They asked for my bank account sort-code and number.....saying that it wasn't enough information to take any money. When I refused they spouted something about Children in Need also asking for the same information but not taking any money. Then they asked if it would help if I spoke to their manager.....what difference would that have made! So I ended the call. Avoid.

Offer to refund bank charges
Called from the number listed to inform me that bank charges were due to be refunded to me. Told me my name, address and postcode, then asked for my DoB. I refused and told the caller to take me through security. There was no response so I hung up. Clearly attempted fraud.

Claimed to be calling from MTA/TTA Solicitors
I couldn't actually tell because the accent was so strong. After asking where they got my phone number, and repeatedly telling them to identify themselves, they hung up on me. They were asking for confirmation of an accident (presumably car, they didn't specify) occurring 'from' my address in the last three years. I passed my test a month ago and have never had an accident, so they tried to get information about other members of my household. Anyone have any ideas who these people are? If you try to call them back you get an automated message saying that the number is not recognised. I also looked up MTA solicitors, which is a legitimate company, online and called them to inform them someone claiming to be them is called me, was it them? They said there's no way it was, as their offices and call centres are closed on Saturdays.

This number keeps on relentlessly calling me yet whenever I answer the phone, they don't speak and put it down after a few seconds - they ring almost hourly throughout the day and well into the night and it's even more annoying because I'm currently recovering from a life-threatening illness that saw me hospitalised in special care and needing a full blood transfusion so I'm often severely exhausted and have to sleep a lot including during the day and these calls are constantly waking me up. I've reported them to the ICO but nothing seems to have happened yet! Tried ringing back but was told by an automated voice that I'll be charged if ringing from outside the United States.

Its an automated recorded message offering unlimited calls. I eventully pressed 2 as there is no other option to stop calls. They rang me back in 24 hours. I told them to stop calling and take me of there list. He said that will be fine and i put the phone down. A few weeks on the calls started again, i pressed 2 and they have rang me back this morning, straight away the women said i've rang to set you up on unlimited calls. I stopped her there and asked what company this was with. She said it was Freedial, part of the BT group. After that I told her that i wanted to know as I am fed up with the calls time after time and i've already told them to st..... Oh she hung up on me. I rang 0207 536 5008 and its an automated message saying they tried to call me today if i would like to be taken of the list press 1 and leave your number as a recorded message. I did this, left my number and told them if they call again i will be filing a complaint. .

Santander 'make customer jump thru hoops' call
From the fraud prevention dept, making you call another number, listen to a message, enter security information, listen to transactions, then listen to a message telling your that some of them might not have gone thru and FU, even if you agree they are all genuine. Classic customer service...

This call has really worried my um
My elderly mother has just called me as she is very worried about a number of phone calls she has received from this telephone number. The caller who sounded indistinct and with a non British accent said that they were from Direct Line. My mother does not insure with Direct Line and never has. The caller had knowledge of certain details about my mother's situation and wanted to obtain further information from her. When questioned the caller refused to give information about themselves. This practice cannot be allowed to continue as it worries old people! SHAME on Direct Line. This situation has put me off using them myself. Rather than gaining a potential customer they have certainly lost 2!!!!

I use a simple app called call block. You make a black list of phone numbers you dont want to get calls from and if they call it instantly drops the call and all you get is a notification from the app saying it blocked a call. As for how they got your number, probably one of the online registrations that you made (as do all of us) sometimes require your phone number, and in the small print of their License agreement they make you agree to them disclosing your phone number for advertising purposes. you can only 1, not register or buy anything online (highly unikely) or 2, read every 10 page license agreement these pages make you agree to (have fun :D).

I've had phone calls from this number for the last 3 months, first time they said they were from a bank I am not with or ever have been and the second time they said they were with and energy firm. They call excessively. At least twice a day for the last 3 weeks. If I could block their number I would.

I also today had a woman telling me I had to renew our account with google, she was very persistent in telling me if I did not renew nobody would find us on google. I tried looking up there details on google to find out who they were and nothing came up. I then typed the number in she gave me and found this web site, I was just in the process of contacting to yell to ask there advice but somebody has already done so and being told its a scam.

Pain in the backside
First time I've been called by this number, but when I answered it there was no one there, then suddenly I got a ringing tone as though I was making the call. Two minutes later it rang again - silence. Dialed 1571 to see if anyone had left a message. BT said "No messages". Dialed 1471 to check who had rung, and dialing tone on phone suggested there was a message. Checked 1571 again - definitely "No messages". What the hell's going on. Can no-one sort out these damned cold callers? Either make them illegal, or better still shoot the bastards, they're a complete pain in the arse. We've now reached the stage where we just don't answer the phone anymore

Silent caller strikes again...
I have recently switched from Scottish Power and believe they are trying to get me back with a dodgy call centre. I don't answer because I left for a good reason - if they had better service, they would not need to call me repeatedly with incompetent sales tactics.
