They ring up to 4-5 times a day including evenings asking for people that I do not know I have tried explaining that I am not the person they want, I have been rude but nothing works. I believe the calls are coming from a call center

"we have a cheque for, £3000 for your accident....
I have also had a suspicious phone call from the same man named Andrew claiming he had a cheque waiting for me to be sent out for an accident I had two years previous. How he had received the money for the injury is beyond me as we've had no paper work sent out for us to sign. Well he is addament that he has got this cheque and all we have to do is confirm our address as they send out a courior to your house by the name of Tom and we have to give Tom our reference number which will be given to us at the end of the conversation. Also I have to go to the local news shop and buy U.K. VOUCHERS!!!! to the value of £300 which I have to give to Tom to send back to them for payment of their goverment enrollment fee to the courts. They claim that they cannot take their fees out of the cheque and they dont want money but these , U.K. VOUCHERS!! which can be brought at a news shop.
Had missed call on home phone pointless these losers even bothering as I have caller ID and don't answer numbers I don't recognise. Some people have a life!!!
That makes sense, posted items to japan, buyer claims not to have received and paypal say I must pay back £155 even though I have proof of posting!! At least I know who is calling me now, thank you.
Just to let you know I received a call from the people that I had called and asked for a refund. Surprisingly I have looked in my account today and the money has been reinbursed. The chap I spoke to told me it would not be before 10 days. So perhaps I have been a lucky one. I did tell him I had reported his details to the police and BT. He said could I give him 10 days and he would sort it out.
So for me that is good news.
I have had many and frequent calls from this bunch of scammers using different numbers asking for money to repair computer problems. I have asked for information regarding their authenticity and they have made comments like the British Goverment know about us. Hmm I do not believe in fairy tales either. Have even been extremely abusive and they still continue with their calls. I cannot understand why unless their command of the English language does not stretch to abusive words.
4 phone calls today, i am now going to cancell my insurance with them ! I have asked them not to contact me but they keepdoing so..................Do these companies not know that this upsets their customer base !!!
It's TalkTalk.
They've been bugging me with evening calls over the last few weeks. I have TalkTalk broadband (previously Tiscali). I answered the call this time to say I wasn't in :) and asked who was calling.
Yet another bunch of scummers (nb - spelling error intentional) trying to get fees on the offchance that they strike lucky with some poor mug willing to pay them. Don't be that mug. Make your own claim if you are entitled - get the full amount yourself - cut out the scummer.
random calls from this number. The recorded message on Virgin's 1471 service says "please note, there may be a charge for returning this call". Guessing that means a substantial charge! Don't know why we bother being ex-directory
Had a call from this number this afternoon, male with asian accent called stating he was from PC Wizards and stating the usual that we have problems with our PC, as I'm an IT professional we have half a dozen of them!!! they really wanted us to sit at the PC but we were having none of it... It's very strange that since we changed providers from XLN to Plusnet and went back to a BT line in late March 2012 we have started getting loads of these type of calls... prior to that we got very few if any at all and as we are registered with the TPS and MPS I report every such example however since changing providers it could become a full time job!!
They keep ringing us asking for someone that does not live here.
Keep telling them that this person does not live here.
We got a new telephone number when we changer provider.
It is weird how fast "scammers" get these numbers.
Avoid them at all cost.
Had three calls from this number over the past two days saying the cover on the Sky system is blah blah blah.....
Satellite 4 You can go forth and multiply!
I don't need cover with it. Reported to TPS.
