"Sam" just rang us. He stated he was from "Consumer Lifestyles" and was ringing in connection with the "bank owing us money" (PPI obviously). When I told him they kept ringing us, he stated "Well Ma'am, this is the 1st time I've rung you today" (today? 8 times since last week they've rung us). I asked him to remove our details from their database, he just talked over me. Finally I mentioned TPS (which doesn't work btw - so I wouldn't bother with them) and he said "OK ma'am, bye bye" and put the phone down!
I picked up the call but they just rang off. I get a lot of these nuisance calls, this is the forst from this number for some time. I do not intend answering back.
Someone from this company has phoned me in the last 2 days ...
(once each day) to state that someone at my address has had a minor car accident in the last 3 years, I don't even fucking drive, this property was vacancy for a year before I moved here, and the previous tenant was a OAP who I presume didn't drive.
I'm getting pissed off with their phone calls, how fucking annoying.
Have been having this number call about 3/4 times a day over the past couple of weeks. Don't answer numbers I don't know so goes to answer. We are both ex directory and registed with tp scheme.
They are now using the name "? and Anderson". They are using "we are in your area soon", and they are targeting Pension Age People. They spiel now is Bedroom Furniture condition an you could win vouchers in a draw.
rack off, i give my number 2 no-one not shop or bank only the mobile. otherwise why pay for a private number and they don't even have the decency 2 leave a message if their call is so dam important. next time i'll make sure i pick up before the machine does but it's hard with a 6week old in your arms and ill tell them to pip off permanently.
This is not a hoax call but a recruitment agency. Number was submitted by a candidate who was unsuccessful in a position and as a result he placed this number on the internet. Police have been informed.
Thank you for the advice. I support any cancer research particularly as I lost my dear husband, aged 50 to cancer in 2010. I will always put money in collection boxes for worthy causes, and I have sponsored people doing charity work for Cancer Research UK whenever asked. However, I do object to getting these phone calls. I do a lot of temporary work so have no regular income. I can therefore not commit to a fixed regular payment. My husband was the main earner in the household, therefore being widowed has meant money is really tight. I get what work I can, whenever I can, but it's not easy nowadays. I will continue to sponsor friends/family doing voluntary walks etc for Cancer Research UK - but I will provide a fake phone number in future so they don't hassle me.
Mary - if you gave them your number on a form you filled in they can use it to call you! Applied for anything lately and forgot to tick/untick the little box at the end?
Even though my number is registered as not receiving unsolicited calls I get calls from these people as well. However, I don't answer the calls but let the answerphone do it. They usually switch off during the message.
DO NOT CALL this number - they're pretending to be technical support for microsoft, They then gain remote access to your computer and then proceed to tell you have a million viruses, to which they then ask for money, if you don't comply with them, they reek havock into your files, and if you don't pay them any money, they reward you by messing up your whole system. Wankers!!!!!
Driving me nuts because I let the answer phone pick up and you've guessed, no message, just runs the length of the answer phone. If its a call centre making cold calls how about they cross the number off their list when no one picks up. Instead they phone every few days. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I rang back. Dialogue:
Them: 118 Information Group.
Me: I've already told you not to ring me and I am on TPS.
Them: TPS doesn't apply to us. That is for telemarketing and sales.
Me. When you ring me, that IS telemarketing and sales. Goodbye.
I missed the call because I was in the shower, but I too filled out a form maybe an hour ago to find out the cost of driving lessons. Same thing happened with a different company when I wanted to find out the cost of car insurance - they won't give you a quote unless you give them a phone number, but all I want is a quote!
Got an agreement to pay off the money owed. Yet still call 5 times a day, 7 days a week from 730am to 930pm. Absolute scum bags, even when you answer they usually hang up
Phone rang several times and each time no-one bothered to speak, they just hung up. Rang them back and they said they were a Hull based company trying to help people with debt problems. If that is the truth then why hang up when you answer the phone????
